Enclosed is my application for admission to Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Dear Jack Daniels,

It has been my lifelong dream to become a student at IUP, and as you know, your school is one of the most esteemed in Pennsylvania. I recognize that your program is impacted and you have limited space for incoming students. I want to stress that Indiana University of Pennsylvania is my first choice school and best fits my ultimate career goal of staying in-state, saving me a lot of money and contributing to the nation as a radio personality.

I hope that my application is reviewed favorably. Please let me know if I can answer any questions or otherwise tell you more on my background or my focus to become a part of your program. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Ryan Smith

Smart goal

1)What is a smart goal?
A smart goal, is a goal that is specific, measurable, action-oreinted, realistic, and time-oriented. To follow through with this goal, you must tell exactly what your goal is, if the goal is measurable, put it into action, it must be realistic, and you have to have a time frame of when you want to get it done. An example of this method is, someone wanting to be a doctor. To be specific, you must tell what kind of doctor, and if you can be. You have to put it into action, by going to college. Its realistic, and how long you plan to take.
2)Summer Goal
I have made many goals this summer. My summer goal is to obtain my license. I failed my road test the first time by making small mistakes. To make sure I pass next time, I have to focus more, and do not worry about what the instructor has to say. I plan on doing this before I go off to college.
3)Long term goal
My long term goal is to graduate from college. I plan on graduating from Indiana University of Penn. I have no control over the future so I don't know what will happen. I plan of getting my degree in Media Communications, and go and get my own talk show on a big name channel. I have to first go to college, and pass all of my classes. I hope to get my degree within the next five years.

Reference

Dear Mr. Franklin,
I am writing to ask if it would be possible for you to provide a reference for me?

Im planning to work for Comcast as an electrical engineer. I am looking for a job and a positive reference from you would give me a better chance of getting one.

I have a bachelors degree in engineering, I graduated from Temple University.
I chose you to write me this because, I feel as though I am closer to you than any other staff. I need the reference by august 17, 2010.

Please let me know if there is any information I can provide regarding to my experience to help you in giving me a reference. I can be reached at Rl.johnsonsmith@gmail.com or (267) 977-7777.
Thank you for your consideration.

3 Q's

I plan on being a talk show host. I have to find what a search engine I used. which ones may help in the future, and see what they have to offer.

I used college board(http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/index.jsp), anycollege.com(http://www.anycollege.com/), and College net.com(http://cnsearch.collegenet.com/cgi-bin/CN/index). The college of education and educational technology will go over Broadcast Newswriting, Communications Graphics, Television Production, Beginning Photography, Radio Production, Process of Digital Game Development, Animation, and Advanced Video Production. An internship is required. With the electives built into this major, you’ll have the opportunity to take a minor or courses outside Communications Media that will make you more competitive in the job market. You might want to consider to minor in Journalism, Art, Psychology, Music, or Business Administration.

College of education, and educational technology will help me in the future because, it will prepare me with the skills I need, and also give me a degree. My plan is to become a talk show host with a degree in media communications.

Portfolio Training

Yesterday we had ZAK come in and teach us small things for the future. Because, it was our first day the class wasn't as intense as he said it would be, so we just touched up on little things. We learned how to conduct ourselves during an interview. We also learned a method called SMART(Specific, measure, action, realistic, time). Its a way to plan goals for your future.
